Prepare a graph in advance using the chart paper, draw a happy face on the top right hand side and a sad face on the top left. Add some brown sugar or honey to the oatmeal to give it some flavor. Use the wooden flat spoons that come with Dixie cups, they are much cheaper than plastic spoons. Make instant oatmeal and divide into disposable cups (cheaper and smaller than disposable bowls). Post the chart on the wall for future reference. Have the students write their names under their favorite Goldilocks story and review the results in large group. Show the students the actual books and have a discussion comparing and contrasting the stories. Glue the copies to the top of the chart and use the markers to make the lines for a graph.
